B.
1. The renaissance brought a sense of individualism, which was cause by
humanists who believed in god yet they thought that all people were good and
should express themselves.
2. The feudal society fell apart because of the plague which cause there to
be many deaths, serfs wanted to have a higher pay, revolted, and didn’t
work, so feudalism fell apart
3. Greek and Roman art, literature, and philosophy played important roles in
the development of Renaissance ideas and ideals because the Romans and Greek
people were very open to art, and other ideas so they took many books, and
forms of art from them.
4. Ruling families were a very important part of Italian city-states because
they decided on the laws that would pass and kind of ruled the city with
other patrician families.
5. During the Renaissance there were great artistic and intellectual
achievements because of humanists who believed that it was important for
people to share their mind or express their feelings in an artistic way.
6. The Italian Renaissance cities had three major social levels, the
peasants, the middle class, and the patricians. The peasants were the lowest
on the social ladders they had jobs like porters, boatmen, and peddlers. The
Middle class consisted of many blacksmiths, traders, and artisans and they
made a reasonable amount of money. The patricians made the most money, their
jobs all involved their government, and they ruled the city together.
7. Life in an Italian renaissance city had its advantages and it’s
disadvantages. The advantages only worked if you were a patrician or upper
middle class, the advantages were having fine works of art, eating exquisite
food, and being able to read and write. The disadvantages, which usually
only happened to the peasants were that you would be completely ignored by
the higher level and not experience the culture.
8. Renaissance ideals did not apply to the lower class which did not have
enough money to buy artwork, or tools to make art, books, or be able write
books.
9. The ideas of the Renaissance were spread by art, travel, trade, books,
and counter culture where people just told each other stories.
Using Critical Thinking
1. My classroom would not be the best place to learn if the printing press
hadn’t been invented yet, because teachers would have to rely on the
chalkboard, or sheets written by hand to do a lesson. It would also be hard
to learn because you would have to take down so many directions by hand and
do your work at school because you wouldn’t be able to take it home.
